2024 China-Russia Youth Table Tennis Friendly Match ends
On October 15, the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau announced that the first phase of the 2024 China-Russia Youth Table Tennis Friendship Tournament was held from October 12 to 13 at the All Fitness Center Sports Gymnasium in Heihe City. A total of 36 athletes from both China and Russia participated in the event.
The competition featured three age groups: under 13, 14-15, and 16-17, including both team and individual matches. Trophies were awarded to the top two teams, while medals were given to the top three players in each individual category.
As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, this youth table tennis tournament carries significant and far-reaching implications. It embodies not just a celebration of athletic competition but also a vibrant representation of China-Russia friendship. This tournament provided a professional platform for young athletes from both countries to engage in mutual learning and showcase their skills, injecting fresh energy into the cooperation and exchanges between the two nations.
Sports serve as a universal language, allowing youth from both countries to bond through shared enjoyment, strengthen emotional connections, and expand their friendships—perpetuating the spirit of China-Russia camaraderie.
The 2024 China-Russia Youth Table Tennis Friendship Tournament is organized by the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, the Amur Region Sports Department, and the Heihe City Government. It is co-hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Center for Social Sports Guidance and Chess Sports Management, and the Heihe Education and Sports Bureau. This international sporting event has been successfully held twice before, following similar grassroots sports exchanges including the crossing of the Heilongjiang River, the China-Russia border ice hockey matches, and the China-Russia automotive challenge.
The second phase of the tournament is set to take place in Blagoveshchensk, Russia, on October 15-16.
