NBBF League Final 8
In an exciting lead-up to the Zenith Bank-sponsored Nigeria Women’s Basketball Premier League Final 8, all attention is directed towards the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, the stage for this season’s championship. Recent qualifying rounds unfolded simultaneously in the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences, held in Enugu and Abuja respectively.
First Bank emerged as the leaders in the Atlantic Conference and will be joined in Lagos by MFM, Dolphins, and Bayelsa Whales. In the Savannah Conference, Nigeria Customs topped the standings, leading their cohort, which includes Titans, Royal Aces, and Air Warriors, to the finals.
President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Ahmadu Musa Kida, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming Final 8 championship, scheduled for October 10 to 15, 2024, at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium. He emphasized the NBBF’s commitment to hosting an exciting and fiercely competitive tournament that will ultimately crown a deserving Nigerian champion.
Kida also took a moment to acknowledge the significant role Zenith Bank has played in the development of basketball in Nigeria. “The Final 8 is a testament to Zenith Bank’s commitment to the sport and to the empowerment of the Girl Child. We commend them for partnering with the NBBF to elevate basketball. The global accomplishments of D’Tigress highlight how Zenith Bank’s support has transformed the game in Nigeria and across Africa,” he remarked.
