Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia- Combating online gambling and electronic fraud is the consensus of regional countries
On October 11th, during an exclusive interview in Phnom Penh, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wenbin, emphasized the mutual recognition between China and Cambodia, as well as other regional countries, regarding the importance of combating online gambling and fraudulent activities. He noted that there is a growing momentum among regional nations to work together against transnational cyber crimes, and he is confident that future cooperation will yield increasing results in this area.
Ambassador Wang’s comments came after a meeting between Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, where both leaders engaged in discussions about strengthening their strategic trust and practical cooperation, further enhancing the China-Cambodia community of shared future in the new era. He highlighted that this meeting injected strong momentum into their partnership and sent a clear message to the international community: both countries are committed to solidifying their iron-clad friendship. He anticipates that the cooperation between China and Cambodia will face even broader prospects and achieve more fruitful outcomes in the future.
The ambassador also pointed out their unanimous agreement to enhance collaboration in tackling cross-border online gambling fraud during the meeting. Both parties recognize the necessity of combined efforts to firmly combat these transnational crimes, thereby creating a conducive environment for the normal advancement of exchanges and cooperation, as well as for deepening their friendship.
Wang expressed appreciation for the Cambodian government’s measures taken this year against online gambling fraud. He conveyed China’s hope and belief that Cambodia will continue to take effective actions to curb such cross-border criminal activities. He assured that China will persist in offering robust support and assistance to Cambodia in its fight against online gambling and related crimes.
