Delta Air Lines’ Los Angeles to Shanghai route will resume 17 flights per week in June next year_1
Recently, Delta Air Lines has made significant moves in the aviation industry. Not only has the airline unveiled a newly upgraded Delta One lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but it has also announced plans to resume direct flights from Los Angeles to Shanghai in June 2025. Delta anticipates operating 17 round-trip flights per week between the U.S. and China, incorporating existing routes from cities such as Detroit and Seattle.
According to a report by Simple Flying, the announcement of the Los Angeles to Shanghai route follows Delta’s code-sharing agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) signed in September. The flights will be operated on Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Data from ch-aviation reveals that Delta has a fleet of 1,001 aircraft, with 31 of these being A330-300s.
The flights from Los Angeles to Shanghai will offer travelers a variety of experiences, including the Delta One suite, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Economy Class. All passengers will have access to curated dining experiences and over 1,000 hours of video entertainment through the Delta Studio service.
Delta also serves nearly 60 destinations from LAX, with additional flights to Paris and Brisbane, Australia set to resume on December 4 of this year.
Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing travelers with an exceptional flying experience to destinations worldwide. He noted that the recent investments in the Delta One lounge and airport renovations reflect this commitment. The newly upgraded Terminal 3 at LAX, described as a “star attraction” for all airline passengers, features 1.2 million square feet of space and 27 boarding gates, enhancing convenience through the Delta Sky Way.
