Chinese and foreign medical experts gathered in Kunming to promote international exchanges and cooperation in the field of urology

On October 19th, the 11th Golden Bridge International Urology Conference and New Techniques in Minimally Invasive Urology Training Course officially opened in Kunming, Yunnan. Experts and scholars from countries including China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Singapore gathered to share insights on the latest advancements in urology through academic lectures, hot topic discussions, live surgery demonstrations, and technical training.

Professor Li Jiongming, the chairman of the Golden Bridge International Urology Conference and a faculty member at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, expressed in his opening remarks that since its inception in 2014, the conference has consistently adhered to the philosophy of innovative development, aiming to promote the continuous growth of urology across nations. Over the past decade, the influence of the conference has steadily increased, establishing itself as a vital platform for international communication and cooperation in urology, thereby making significant contributions to patient health.

This year’s conference attracted 40 experts and scholars from countries such as Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Kuwait, along with over 200 specialists from various regions of China. More than 900 participants attended the event both online and in person.

The conference will run until October 21st, featuring academic exchanges on key topics such as “The Advances in Urological Tumors,” “Optimizing Laparoscopic Surgery in the Era of Robotic Surgery,” and “The Application of Laser in Urolithiasis.” Discussions will also cover trending issues like “Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery” and “Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy.” Throughout the event, there will be presentations of surgical videos, live demonstrations, and online training sessions.

Organized by Kunming Medical University, the conference is co-hosted by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University and the Yunnan Provincial Urology Specialized Hospital.
