The Ministry of National Defense introduced the Liaoning fleet training situation- it will still be organized as planned

On October 15, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Wu Qian, addressed recent military-related concerns during a press conference in Beijing. When discussing the training activities of the Liaoning aircraft carrier group, Wu emphasized that these exercises are part of an annual plan and that the Chinese military will continue to conduct similar training regularly moving forward.

A reporter inquired about Japan’s recent defense ministry announcement regarding the movements of the Liaoning aircraft carrier group, which included photos. The reporter noted that the Liaoning group had recently circled around the Philippines and then appeared alongside the Shandong carrier in Hainan. Wu Qian responded by commenting on what he termed Japan’s “sensationalism” in this context.

“We’ve taken note of the Japanese side’s efforts to stir controversy,” Wu stated. He clarified that the Chinese Navy’s recent training activities in the South China Sea involving the Liaoning carrier group are routine and part of the annual training schedule aimed at enhancing operational capabilities. He reiterated that the Chinese military will continue to organize such training activities as planned in the future.
