Elumelu, a key advocate for Africapitalism, will emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship and youth investment as fundamental drivers of economic growth in Africa.
Through initiatives like the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), he has made significant strides in empowering African entrepreneurs, which has been crucial for job creation and poverty alleviation on the continent. On October 29, Elumelu will participate in the opening plenary titled “Board of Changemakers: Banking & Investment,” where he will articulate his vision for transforming economic systems with an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship as catalysts for growth in Africa. His involvement at the forum highlights the global significance of his mission to enhance economic development in Africa through investment in human capital.
In parallel, Owen Omogiafo, one of Africa’s leading female business leaders, will represent Transcorp Group, a key player in the energy, power, and hospitality sectors, at the HERizon Summit. She will engage in dialogue regarding the vital roles women play in fostering sustainable supply chains and propelling economic change in the energy industry. Under her leadership, Transcorp has been steadfast in its commitment to improving lives and transforming Africa through strategic investments and impactful business initiatives.
The forum will also showcase insights from Osa Igiehon, CEO of Heirs Energies, who will discuss Africa’s transition to green energy, and Muyiwa Akinyemi, Deputy Managing Director of UBA Group, who will address ways to strengthen economic ties between Africa and the Gulf.
Elumelu’s reflections on the evolving relationship between Africa and the Gulf stand out: “The relationship between Africa and the Gulf has evolved into a thriving economic partnership, driving growth across both regions. I am proud to co-chair the New Africa Summit at FII, where we will explore mutually beneficial investment opportunities and underscore the vital role entrepreneurship plays in transforming visions into ventures. Together, Africa and the Gulf are building a legacy of shared prosperity for a better tomorrow.”
