China-ASEAN Pig Industry Innovation Alliance was established

On October 25th, the 13th World Swine Industry Expo officially opened in Chengdu, marking the establishment of the China-ASEAN Swine Industry Innovation Alliance.

This alliance is a non-profit, non-governmental organization formed voluntarily by enterprises, educational institutions, research organizations, and industry associations from China and ASEAN countries involved in the pig farming sector. Its purpose is to integrate resources such as capital, technology, talent, and market access across China and the ASEAN nations, thereby enhancing international cooperation and facilitating the upgrading of the regional swine industry.

In an interview, Zhao Yunxiang, the Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Swine Industry Innovation Alliance, emphasized that the formation of this alliance will strengthen the interaction between industry, academia, and research within the swine sector between China and ASEAN, allowing for complementary advantages.

During the inaugural meeting of the China-ASEAN Swine Industry Innovation Alliance, experts and scholars from various ASEAN universities and companies, including those from Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University, Vietnam’s Greenfeed Group, and Thailand’s CP Group, shared insights on the current status, challenges, and development trends of the pig farming industry in their respective countries. Representatives from Chinese institutions such as Sun Yat-sen University, China Agricultural University, and Guangxi University were also present to contribute to the discussions.
