High-quality development of my country’s industrial economy has been solidly advanced
During a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on October 23, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shared insights into the stability and robust advancement of China’s industrial economy for the first three quarters of this year.
Data shows that China’s industrial production has seen steady growth, with over 90% of the 31 provinces and 41 industrial sectors experiencing positive outcomes. Notably, industrial investment has maintained a double-digit growth rate for eight consecutive months.
The pace of transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing sector has accelerated, with the establishment of 421 national-level intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories and over 10,000 provincial-level smart factories. China now boasts a total of 72 “lighthouse factories,” accounting for 42% of the global total, while energy consumption per unit of value added in large-scale industrial enterprises continues to decline.
Furthermore, the development of business entities is on a steady upward trajectory. By the end of August, the number of large-scale industrial enterprises reached 504,000, reflecting a 4.4% increase compared to the end of 2023. Additionally, a total of 1,557 “manufacturing champions” and over 140,000 specialized, sophisticated, and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises have been nurtured.
The empowering effects of information and communication technology have also become increasingly evident. In the first three quarters, the total volume of telecommunications services grew by 10.7% year-on-year. By the end of September, China had established 4.089 million 5G base stations, with more than 15,000 projects integrating “5G + industrial internet.”
