Night shift guard was beaten to death by three people. Inner Mongolia police found the real culprit after 17 years

Recently, the long-standing murder case from Inner Mongolia, which had remained unsolved for 17 years, reached a resolution with the arrest of three suspects.

On February 3, 2007, at approximately 3 a.m., the police in Xilin Gol League received an emergency call reporting that a night-shift worker had been injured and was currently in critical condition at the hospital.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that the victim, identified as Han, had sustained severe head injuries and was unable to provide clear information, only mentioning that he had been attacked by three men. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

In the wake of the incident, the police quickly established a task force to investigate the case. However, due to the victim’s death and lack of leads, progress proved challenging.

Recently, the dedicated task force made a breakthrough, identifying three suspects—Wang and his accomplices—as key figures in the crime. Coordinated efforts led to their arrest.

During interrogation, the suspects recounted the events of that fateful night. On February 3, around 3 a.m., they had gained entry to the building through a window in the restroom, intending to commit theft. When Han discovered them, they resorted to violence, inflicting grievous injuries to prevent their capture. Subsequently, they rifled through multiple offices, stealing over 100,000 yuan before fleeing the scene.

It wasn’t long before Han was found in critical condition by his colleagues, who rushed him to the hospital and reported the incident to the police.

This resolution marks the end of a tragic chapter that began 17 years ago.
