Ningxia roads carried 846,800 passengers during the National Day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 2.72%

On October 8th, we spoke with representatives from the Ningxia Transportation Department who provided insights into the transportation trends during the recent National Day holiday. They reported that Ningxia deployed 23,900 passenger vehicles throughout the holiday, successfully transporting around 846,800 travelers. Highway traffic saw an impressive increase of 2.72% over the same period last year, totaling 5.62 million vehicles. Fortunately, the road network functioned smoothly, with no major traffic disruptions noted.

During the holiday, the transportation department prioritized enhancing public and tourist transport services, especially in urban areas, popular tourist attractions, and key transportation hubs like bus and train stations. They proactively adjusted bus schedules and ramped up the availability of additional and charter services to make travel more convenient for passengers.

To maintain safety throughout the holiday period, the department deployed 2,754 law enforcement officers and 6,099 maintenance personnel. Their efforts included thorough inspections of road transport, construction activities, and highway bridges.

Additionally, the transportation department bolstered network monitoring by closely tracking congested areas and proactively sharing real-time updates with the public. In high-traffic locations such as train and bus stations, as well as airports, over 30 service points were established to offer vital assistance. These included support for transportation capacity, order maintenance, complaint resolution, and route guidance.
