Shooting in Los Angeles, USA, leaves at least one dead and one injured

On October 12, a shooting occurred at a sports-themed bar in El Monte, California, leaving one person dead and at least one other injured.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, they received a report of the gunfire early that morning on Lower Azusa Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim on the floor of the bar, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released by the authorities.

In the course of their investigation, law enforcement confirmed that a woman was also injured in the incident; she had been taken to the hospital before the police arrived and is now in stable condition. Witnesses reported that there was a third female victim who left the scene prior to the police’s arrival. Investigators are currently seeking this individual.

Local media outlets have identified the bar involved as “Silver Dollar Bar,” but the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the shooter is still at large.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, over 13,200 people in the U.S. have died from various gun violence incidents this year as of October 12.
