South Bay Halloween Costume Party October 26th Costume Contest to Win Cash Prizes
The San Francisco Taiwanese Association is thrilled to announce its 9th Annual Halloween Costume Competition and Dance Party, supported by the Overseas Community Affairs Council of the Republic of China. Scheduled for Saturday, October 26, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the South Bay Community Center, tickets are now on sale.
Attendees can expect an exciting costume contest with various prizes, live performances from the Ocean Band, and a karaoke imitation show to keep the energy high throughout the night.
Chiu Junliang, president of the San Francisco Taiwanese Association, shared that this year marks the ninth anniversary of this beloved Halloween celebration. “Each year, we have awards and recognitions for our participants, as judges evaluate the contestants based on their costumes, talent, poise, and creativity,” he explained. This year’s judging panel will be spearheaded by Hsieh Hsiu-Chih from the Global Abacus Academic Alliance, who will oversee the scoring process. The competition will feature both individual and group categories, with prizes awarded in each.
Chiu highlighted the association’s commitment to its motto: “Caring for Taiwan and Serving Fellow Countrymen Everywhere.” He noted that the costume party has become a cherished tradition, with participation steadily increasing; about 300 attendees are expected this year.
Tickets for the Halloween Costume Competition and Dance Party are available in two tiers: a $35 Sponsor Ticket and a $100 VIP Ticket that includes a complimentary gourmet bento box. The costume contest will also feature cash prizes, with $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 awarded to two third-place winners.
