Twenty-year-old South Korean livestreamer Zhao Rui Li recently revealed a deeply troubling incident where she was sexually assaulted by a man who unlawfully entered her home. In a recent broadcast, she shared her harrowing experience of being followed home, which allowed the perpetrator to determine her address. He allegedly waited outside her door for 13 hours before forcing his way in as she stepped outside.
According to South Korean media outlet Chosun Ilbo, Zhao Rui Li first made the incident public on her Instagram Stories on the 18th, sharing a nine-second clip from her security camera. She explained that she was about to leave her home when she noticed a man hiding behind her door. Due to a blind spot, she didn’t see the danger until it was too late. Upon opening the door, he immediately pushed against it, entering her home by force. Despite her attempts to escape, Zhao Rui Li was overpowered due to the disparity in their sizes. She has reported the assault to the police and has emphasized that the video she shared is authentic and was provided to law enforcement.
Standing at only 153 cm (5 feet) tall and weighing 38 kg (84 lbs), Zhao Rui Li has amassed over 150,000 followers on Instagram and has gained some fame on livestreaming platforms. Further reports from News1 have indicated that the suspect is actually Zhao Rui Li’s ex-boyfriend, with whom she was involved for a year and a half. He tricked her into opening the door before attacking her. This individual has since been detained, although the police have yet to confirm his identity. Despite some fans questioning the authenticity of her claims, Zhao Rui Li insists that the footage is genuine and has spoken out bravely regarding her experience.
