In Shanxi Province, the Meidonggou Wetland Park in Fangshan County is becoming increasingly enveloped by autumn hues. From above, the rolling hills are adorned with colorful leaves in shades of red, green, and yellow, beautifully complemented by gently flowing streams, creating a picturesque autumn landscape. This wetland park boasts over 870 plant species, displaying a vertical landscape that transitions from broadleaf to coniferous forests, ranging from an elevation of 1,300 meters at the East Gate to the main peak.
In a stunning display, the Datong Volcano National Geopark in Shanxi recently revealed a breathtaking sea of clouds. The mist cascades like silken silver, rising over the mountain tops and flowing through the valleys. The recent cool temperatures and low cloud cover conditions have resulted in this spectacular cloud phenomenon. The Datong Volcano National Geopark, situated on the Loess Plateau, is the largest, best-preserved, and most diverse volcanic group in North China, often referred to as a rare natural heritage of East Asia and a “volcanic geological museum.”
Meanwhile, in Guangxi, the trend of enjoying autumn scenery is gaining momentum, drawing a significant number of locals and tourists to various scenic spots. In the Longji Rice Terraces of Guilin, the golden fields of ripening rice create a mesmerizing cascade, attracting many to admire the stunning views. According to a travel agency, the rice harvest in the Longji area is set to begin on October 27 and last about five days, piquing the interest of many travelers.
In Nanning, several travel agencies report a surge in demand for autumn excursions. Popular destinations include Inner Mongolia’s poplar forests, Beijing’s fragrant hills adorned with red leaves, and Tengchong in Yunnan. Agency staff mentioned that many international trips off-peak offer excellent value for money.
